Can’t Afford a Ferrari? Get Speakers Instead!

ferrari-speakersA lot of men and plenty of women dream of owning a Ferrari, though it is not quite in the cards for the majority of us. Now, that really is not a problem — sort of.

Art.Opera is a new speaker system. A new Ferrari system, from the DW Collection. They are meant to be the perfect speaker for people who love music and people who love Ferraris.

They are not only hand polished, the speakers are also coated in an anodized aluminum. They contain a high content of silver as well as copper wire with a very high purity. Thus it is also designed to combine the benefits of large speakers with those of small speakers.

They also have original factory painting right from Ferrari.

At $30,000, the speakers are less expensive than the car, of course, but they are still pretty pricey.

Holy Batphones, Batman!

batphonesSo … what are Batphones, exactly? Are they the latest super high tech accessory on Batman’s utility belt? As obvious an answer as that seems, nope, that is not quite right. Are they the choice of headphones for vampires from Transylvania? Nah, that is not quite the right answer, either — they aren’t even the newest fashion accessory for hoards of screaming, tweenage Twilight fans.

Matthias Ries is the designer responsible for the strange, yet intriguing looking … things. Actually, the headphones work as a noise filter. So, say you are sitting in the back row of a room where someone is giving a speech up front. The Batphones can filter out the surrounding noise so that you can actually hear the speaker. You can even eavesdrop on your neighbors with these things! And there is no doubt that they make a very … unique fashion accessory.

Vuzix iWear, Video Sunglasses

Alright I do realise these are NOT sunglasses, but I could see these making their way into the World Series of Poker as people will be able to actually watch iPod movies without the need of a portable LCD screen or whatnot. Nop, these just mount on your head like sunglasses do, allowing you to watch high-res video footage, games, etc… with the feel of a huge screen because of the short viewing distance…

I’m extremely impressed when looking at the photos over at the Vuzix site, and I’m pretty sure you will be too… Took my favorites from the web as a little teaser, enjoy!
